What this site is

Every page here is one subject broken into six frames on a single A4 sheet. Each frame keeps the lines of the frame before it and adds a few more, so the last frame is the finished drawing and none of the six asks you to draw the whole thing at once. There are currently 85 of them, across 6 sections. They are free, there is no sign-up, and the PDF downloads from this site rather than from anywhere else.

Who makes it

This site is made and funded independently. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any art school, publisher, brand or character licensor, and no drawing on it depicts a licensed character. We do not put a person’s name or photograph on these pages, because inventing an author or an art teacher to stand behind a drawing sheet would be a claim about the world that is not true.

What the drawings are

Every drawing on this site is drawn here. Nothing is scanned, traced from a photograph, or taken from anywhere else. Each sheet’s six frames are not six separate drawings — they are derived from one finished drawing, which is why every step genuinely contains the step before it rather than approximately resembling it. How we make these sets out the method and, more importantly, what it does not claim.

What we do not claim

The six steps are ordered from the largest shape on the sheet to the smallest. That is an order that is easy to copy from. It is not a claim that it is how anybody ought to draw, that it is the easiest order, or that it is what an art teacher would tell you. We say this on every tutorial page as well as here, because it is the one thing about this site that is easy to misread.

Corrections

If a sheet is wrong — the drawing is not the animal it says it is, a step adds nothing, a page will not print — we would rather know. There is an address on the contact page, and corrections are made by replacing the sheet rather than by adding a note underneath it.
